 An Opposing Force (OPFOR) is a military unit tasked with representing enemy tactics, usually for training purposes in war game scenarios.

 

The Georgia State Defense Force OPFOR is a unit exclusively focused on providing the support to GA Army National Guard Soldiers during field training exercises. Incorporating the vast experience and know-how existing in various Units throughout the Georgia State Defense Force (GA SDF), the mission is to provide a close-to-reality scenario to exercising troops, additionally contributing to individual combat awareness and thus directly supporting the realization of the GA Army National Guard’s mandate.

Serving in GSDF OPFOR Unit means predominantly being present in very challenging locations all over the State of Georgia, with frequent overnights in very basic settings in order to make for a very real scenario.

OPFOR Unit Soldiers are dedicated to a mission that directly supports our troops the best they can and whenever they are asked to do so.
